Cemetery Hours
Norvell Cemetery is open from dawn to dusk.

Cemetery Conduct
A. No alcohol or refreshments permitted
B. No picking of flowers or damage of shrubs
C. No firearms permitted
D. No animals permitted
E. Speed limit in cemetery is 10 MPH
F. No children permitted, unless accompanied by a parent
G. No snowmobiles, dirt bikes, ATV’s or off road vehicles permitted on cemetery grounds
H. No motor vehicles permitted off the driveways
I. Use of metal detectors are prohibited in cemetery

Ground Maintenance
A. All decorations will be located on the burial space, within 12 inches of the marker and in line with the marker, nothing is to be placed in front or back of the marker.
B. Between the months of April 1st and October 31st, all decorations will be contained within a clay pot, concrete urn or metal vase, with a limit of 3 decorations on each space. Glass containers or hanging baskets are prohibited.
C. Between the months of November 1st and March 31st, decorations may include a grave blanket and a wreath
D. The planting of trees, shrubs, plants, or bushes on a burial space is prohibited.
E. All summer decorations will be removed by November 1st and all winter decorations will be removed by April 1st, or they will be removed by the Sexton or the Sexton’s representative.
F. The Township Board reserves the right to remove or trim any tree, plant or shrub located within the cemetery grounds.
G. The Sexton has the right and authority to remove and dispose of any and all growth, decorations, containers or other refuse which does not conform to the requirements listed above, or which, thru decay, deterioration, damage or otherwise becomes unsightly, a source of litter, or a maintenance problem.
H. The use of hoses or sprinklers for watering burial sites is prohibited.
I. All mowing of burial sites shall be performed by Township employees or contractors.
